How Much Do AI Dating Photos Cost?
September 28, 2026
From datingphotos.ai — 3-10 selfies in, ~100 AI dating photos out, $29 once.
Short answer: $29 one-time is the most common price for a set of roughly 80–120 AI dating photos at dating-specific services (checked 28 September 2026). The headline price is the least interesting part of the comparison, though — two services can both say “$29” and mean very different things.
What the market charges
Read off each service’s own pricing page on 28 September 2026:
- One-time packs, around $29. datephotos.ai ($29–$79, 80–180 photos), matchphotos.io ($29, 100+), getdates.ai ($29 for its main pack; $9 buys a single photo), fotto.ai (€27.59 for 40, €45.99 for 80), and us ($29, ~100 photos — we’re the author here, so weigh that).
- Subscriptions. TruShot shows $29 / $49 / $85, billed monthly or yearly until you cancel. Roast lists $39 a month. Photo AI runs $19–$199 a month.
- Headshot tools. Aragon ($35–$75) and BetterPic ($35–$79) sell one-time packs of 20–120 headshots.
For scale: the US dating-photo studios we compared publish packages of $599–$2,200 for a handful of edited photos (we compared the price lists).
Three things that matter more than the price
1. Does it renew? A $29 subscription and a $29 one-time pack look identical on a pricing card. If the plan says “billed monthly or yearly”, you are paying $29 again next month unless you cancel. Most people need one good set of photos, not a monthly supply.
2. What does the refund actually cover? The wording varies more than the prices do. On their own pages: Aragon refunds only if you haven’t downloaded the photos; TruShot’s 14-day refund requires that you “followed our upload guidelines”; Roast’s refund policy lists its AI photoshoot as non-returnable. A 7-day refund with no quality conditions (matchphotos.io, us) is the other end of the range. Read the refund page, not the badge.
3. How many photos can you use? No service’s photos are all usable — a set is a shortlist to pick from, and a dating profile needs about six (why six). So “180 photos” beats “80 photos” only if the extra hundred look like you. Likeness is the thing a price list can’t show; the refund terms are how you insure against it.
Before you pay
Check the number of selfies the service needs (it ranges from 2–5 to 10–20 — fewer is easier, more can help likeness), the delivery time, and whether you need an account. Side-by-side figures for eleven services, including the rows where we lose, are in AI dating photo generators compared.
Frequently asked questions
- How much do AI dating photos cost?
- Checked 28 September 2026: the most common price among dating-specific AI photo services is $29 one-time, for a set of roughly 80–120 photos. The full range runs from $9 for a single photo to $79–$99 for the largest one-time packs, and some services charge $29–$39 per month as a subscription instead.
- Are AI dating photos a subscription?
- Usually not, but check before paying. Most dating-specific services sell one-time packs. Some do not: TruShot's plans are billed monthly or yearly until cancelled, Roast lists $39 a month, and Photo AI's plans are monthly or yearly subscriptions. A $29 subscription and a $29 one-time pack look the same on a pricing page.
- Are AI dating photos cheaper than a photographer?
- Yes, by an order of magnitude. The US dating-photo studios we compared publish packages of $599 to $2,200 for a handful of edited photos, against $29–$49 for an AI set of around 100. A photographer still wins on one thing: every photo is real, which some people prefer to keep at least one of in their profile.
- What should I check besides the price?
- Three things: whether it renews (one-time or subscription), what the refund actually covers (some end the moment you download, some exclude the AI photos entirely), and how many selfies you need to upload. Requirements range from 2–5 selfies to 10–20.
